Welcome to the Doggie Rehoming Page:
Here you will find older dogs that are needing more compatible homes, in order to be "better dogs". Just
because they need a home doesn't mean they are not a loving dog, or haven't come from a very loving family.
There are many reasons families can no longer take care of their dog and if they can't the ad can be posted
here. Occasionally young puppies are posted here as well. In those cases, the owners have just realized how
much work a puppy is and decide it's best for their new puppy to have a new home. You need to be able to live
with your dog in harmony and if it's just not working, It's best to look for a home that is more compatible for your
dog.
There are many people who are looking for an older dog "to rescue". What you may find on this page is
anything from a puppy age up to a few years old. Some people are moving and can't take their dogs with them,
some have other situations that would make it better for their dog to have a different home. Most times the dog
needing a new home is completely potty trained (if older than a puppy) and have really great qualities - and they
could be a gem for a person looking to rescue a dog.
Please take a look below to see if any stand out for you. You would mostly see Boston's and Puggle's for new
homes here, and occasional other breeds.
For those wanting to post your dog on this page, to place a posting here it will not cost you anything. You will
need to send me photo's of your dog, and everything you can think about him for his ad description to help
people understand if this dog will fit into their family - so don't leave anything out - tell the truth about the whole
personality of the dog. You will need to think about the following: As you may be aware, animals given away for
free can, and unfortunately often do, meet gruesome fates. They can end up in the hands of animal abusers.
People known as "bunchers," who obtain animals illegally from random sources to sell to research facilities for
profit, often acquire animals by answering "free to good home" ads. Small animals advertised as "free to good
home" are sometimes acquired by individuals who intend to use them as bait in training other animals to fight.
Be careful who you give your pet away to when posting an ad. Be sure to learn all you can about the
family inquiring and how they plan on taking care of the pet.

Otherwise scroll down to see who's available! *** THERE IS A GORGEOUS 2 YEAR OLD, Well Trained, & Neutered BOSTON BOY RESCUE Available for the right Family See his info below:
|

This is Monty. He is a Red & White Boston Terrier. He was born on 1/18/2010, he just turned 2. He has
a microchip and purebred registry and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is neutered, crate
trained, potty trained and does tricks for you to play with him with his toys. This little guy is a great fun
Boston Boy and will be a great dog for the right family. He is for pick up in Fairfield, CA.
The great things about him far outweigh the bad.
All he wants to do is please you. When he's hanging around the house all he wants to do is play games, or
play ball with you constantly that's his focus when he's inside. Even when he goes out for potty he takes
his ball with him and wants you to throw it. You have to tell him, Monty - go potty. He will potty on
command, and he will tell you when he has to go by pacing at the door.
He loves big rubbery toys he can shake around and you can play fetch with them also. Any toy you throw
he will bring back over and over so you can toss it again for him. So he would be good with kids in
general. He is trained well - He knows: "In your crate/go to your crate", Sit, Down, Back up, High-Five,
Roll-over. He is a very loving dog and when he decides to rest he does like to cuddle up in between your
legs, or sometimes under the blanket with you on the couch. He often goes from lap to lap to take a nap
quite often when you are just sitting in a chair or on the couch.
Although he is crate trained, where currently he sleeps in his crate overnight with his blanket (and he
covers himself up completely under his blankie), he would LOVE to be able to sleep in your bed under the
covers with you! He is used to being in his crate if you have to leave the house, but may not be completely
necessary if he's the only dog in the beginning. He wouldn't normally chew or destroy things in your
house if he was left out. You would just have to make sure he had just gone potty before you left the
house of course to be sure no accidents occurred as you were out. Currently when his owners leave the
house he goes in his crate and sleeps until they come back, then he's always out and about around the
house with them. Of course he is never crated too long and if his owners are home he is not in his crate
unless its bedtime. If he is crated, however, and strangers come to the house he feels threatened in his
crate, so you need to be aware of this, and not have anyone put their fingers in his crate. Fear is what
makes him have aggressive behavior.
He needs a loving home where the owner is home often, to spend time with him, someone that's home
more than they are not at home. He needs a home where he has an enclosed yard. He needs a home
where he is the only dog for now. Once he gets settled in, you can add a puppy to the household, he
accepts puppies (as long as with any new addition and any dog, you monitor their interaction and introduce
slowly), but has issues/aggression with unknown adult dogs. But if you wanted to have a companion for
him at some point, you just have to start with it being a 8-9 week old pup. He has always been fine with
new puppies and does fine with his "pack".
This little guy needs a home where the new parent doesn't care that he is not "social" with other dogs, and
doesn't need him to be. He needs a home where it's best that there is not another dog directly on the
other side of the fence from your property, as if he hears another dog on the other side of the fence he
may get aggressive at the fence. If you do, then you just have to be aware that he has issues with this and
monitor when he's outside. He should not be left outside, he is an indoor dog, only goes out to go potty.
He needs someone that will be able to walk him (always with a leash), and not care that he has little fits if
he sees another dog. He is VERY GOOD on his walks, he walks with a loose leash, doesn't tug or pull
much at all he's a very good boy when it comes to his walks, BUT he sometimes has what's called "leash
aggression". He needs someone that will be understanding that he needs exercise but just needs to be
watched out on his walks so when you see other dogs, you get Monty's attention, and you avoid the other
dogs completely, as he could lunge at them when you walk by so you just keep your distance. Do not try
to have him meet other dogs unless you have taken him to professional training beforehand - this kind of
thing is necessary in order for you to know how to get him accustomed to other strange dogs, do not do
this without have had taken him to training. It's for the safety of you, him, and the other dogs out there.
Sometimes he is concerned by people walking by too and will bark at a stranger walking by as you are out
on a walk. Another good thing to do for exercise with him is play ball in your backyard, he will fetch toys and
balls for as long as you want him to, in order to burn off some energy.
It's not an emergency to find him a home quickly, as we are looking for the right Family for him and his
needs. If he goes to a new home we need to know it's his forever home....
If you feel like Monty is a doggie that would do well with your family, please contact me to tell me a little bit
about yourself, and we can set up a time for you to meet him. We would also like to see the home he
would be going to. He is not available for shipping.
Thanks!
